Alcohol suspected as factor in rollover crash

Larry Stephenson, 41, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for injuries sustained in a crash about 7 a.m. Wednesday on County Road 57.

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report he was operating a westbound pickup near County Road 56 when he drove off the right side of the road, and then off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department also responded to the scene, and observed that Mr. Stephenson had sustained a large gash to his head.

Damage was disabling to the pickup.

The driver was cited for failure to control. Alcohol also is suspected as a factor in the crash, but no citations have yet been issued, pending the receipt of test results.
