NEW UPDATE: Motorcyclist in critical condition

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol continue to investigate a two-vehicle serious injury crash that occurred at 2:51 p.m. Friday in the 3100 block of County Road 5 south of Main Street in Zanesfield.

Reports indicate a motorcycle, operated by Codi R. Wells, 22, of New Carlisle, was southbound on C.R. 5 and failed to maintain an assured clear distance and struck the rear of a pickup truck operated by Seth E. Harrison, 55,  also of New Carlisle. Mr. Harrison was not injured.

The motorcycle driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by MedFlight to OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, where he was listed in critical condition Monday morning, hospital officials said. 

Tri-Valley Fire Department and EMS, West Liberty Fire Department and Macochee Joint Ambulance District assisted at the scene.
