Sydney C. Jones, 18, of Kenton, was charged Friday with forgery as officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department investigate more than $4,800 in bad checks.
She was one of three women to enter Quest Federal Credit Union, 900 E. Columbus Ave., and tried to open an account with an altered payroll check. Her check was from Universal Home Health, while the others were from Universal Home Health Hospice and Hardin Home Health.
The suspect denied she was with the other women, but all three had identification issued in Lucas County on Wednesday and Thursday.
The other women walked from the credit union and evaded police.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
