Local police assisted officers of the Urbana Police Department at the scene of a drug raid about 10 a.m. Thursday on east Church Street in Urbana that resulted in the seizure of drugs, cash and the arrest of the homeowner.

James D. Breneman, 34, of 452 E. Church St., Apt. A, Urbana, was arrested and lodged in the Tri-County Jail on a probation violation. The suspect was on house arrest as part of his community control from another drug-related case.

Executing a search warrant, police recovered suspected marijuana and cocaine along with a digital scale and thousands of dollars in cash. Additional felony drug trafficking charges are pending, according to Urbana police.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department assisted in the search for drugs with one of its police dogs.
