Positive local economic news continued to roll in this week as the Logan County
Commissioners voted Thursday to grant a 10-year, 50-percent tax abatement to Midwest Express Inc.
Midwest asked for the enterprise zone agreement to offset up to $3.75 million in construction costs for a new distribution facility at 11452 Township Road 157, East Liberty.
The expansion will create 50 new jobs with an expected payroll of $1.3 million.
On Tuesday, the Bellefontaine City Council learned an enterprise zone agreement with ISS America Inc. will be on the next council agenda.
ISS, which began operating at 301 Carter Ave. in the past year, plans to spend more than $2 million to renovate and expand its facility.
Employment will grow from six currently to 35, adding $1.05 million to its current payroll of about $180,000.
In February, the council approved an amended agreement for a $12 million expansion at AcuSport Corp., 1 Hunter Place, that will add 80 jobs and $4 million in payroll to its existing 214 employees and $10 million payroll.
