Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to that address about 3 p.m. Tuesday after a caller reported that subjects had removed a sink and a water heater from the residence.

Arrested were David Clark Taggart, 24, of 300 N. Detroit St.; Ronald A. Griffith, 52, of 221 Powell Ave.; Kathryn Gammell, 28, of 113 Arnold Ave.; and Sonja E. Taggart, 42, of 113 Arnold Ave.

Responding officers observed a red and gray pickup truck with a bed full of scrap metal including a furnace, duct pipes and a water heater, attempting to turn from an alley onto west Williams Ave. The police cruiser parked in front of the pickup and turned on its overhead lights.

The suspects had claimed to have permission to take the items, and denied having gone inside the house.

Contact was made with the owner of the property, who said no one was given permission to be on the property.

The suspects were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
