The American Legion Harold Kerr Post 173 will conduct a Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony at noon Saturday at the Carnegie Building, corner of Sandusky Avenue and Main Street.
The local ceremony is part of the first such observance in Ohio.
Former Army Sgt. William “Bill” Arnold will be honored and presented with a U.S. flag that has flown over the Capital and the Ohio State House.
The local veteran was wounded three times in his sixth-month tour of duty.
He received multiple medals for his service including a Bronze Star for valor and three Purple Hearts.
Mr. Arnold is currently serving a five-year term on the Board of the Logan County Veterans Commission representing disabled veterans.
