A debilitating illness has turned its eight-year-old victim into a budding entrepreneur as he tries to raise funds for other children in need after a generous community came to his aid.

Wyatt Wenger, son of Benjamin Logan graduates Meriah and Seth Wenger of North Lewisburg, formerly of Bellefontaine, suffered a debilitating brainstem stroke in July and spent a week in Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Described as “perfectly healthy” before the stroke in July, Wyatt leads a much different life, at least for now, after strong medications to stave off another stroke suppressed his immune system, keeping him away from public school, contact sports or being out in public much in general.
Through the generosity of community members and local school and civic organizations, Wyatt was able to obtain a service dog, Joy, that has provided him with just that over the past couple of months.
