Temporary clerk approved

DeGraff Village Council at its most recent regular meeting approved a new temporary, part-time position to replace an employee set to go on leave.

Council members approved a motion to hire Sheryle Hatfield for office/clerical work at a rate of $9 per hour on an “as-needed” basis. Ms. Hatfield will fill in for a couple weeks for current fiscal officer Linda Harford, who will be out of the office beginning in April for a few weeks to tend to health matters.

Mrs. Harford will train her temporary replacement, who is familiar with standard government accounting practices and compliance laws, according to council.
