Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an accidental shooting that occurred Saturday during a concealed carry class at the Smithers Farm, 2 Rollicking Hills, DeGraff.

Deputies were dispatched to Mary Rutan Hospital about 6 p.m. in reference to a woman who had sustained a gunshot wound.

They met with victim Caroline Roberts, 61, of 1502 W. State Route 245, West Liberty.

She reported that she and her husband were taking the concealed carry class through Skill Training LLC that day.

Mrs. Roberts said she asked her instructor, Bonita Fraim, a question while her gun was in the holster.

Then Mrs. Roberts and Ms. Fraim reportedly reached for the holstered gun, and it fired, injuring Mrs. Roberts' leg.

Mrs. Roberts’ right thigh sustained an entrance and exit wound. She was treated at the hospital and later released, deputies report.

Ms. Fraim also has been interviewed by deputies.
