DeGraff will join other community law enforcement agencies in sharing the cost to participate in the Logan County Sheriff’s Office’s new in-car LEADS System when it goes online in the near future.
The Sheriff’s Office is purchasing the new program that will make background information readily available to police on the road, including DeGraff Police Department vehicles.
Council accepted a check from the Logan County Commissioners and Solid Waste District in the amount of $1,461 for recycling efforts, which were up 13 percent over the year prior.
Additionally, council voted to give $500 of those funds to the Riverside Community District Scholarship Fund.
Sheriff’s Deputy Donnie Day, who was in attendance to observe, took under advisement council and public comments about “loud explosions” in and round the village, shaking people’s homes and causing panic.
The next meeting is at 7 p.m. March 19.
