Driver injured in semi-car crash

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff's Office are investigating an injury crash that occurred about 4:50 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 33 east of County Road 10 involving a car and a semi tractor-trailer.

Anthony D. McLaughlin, 48, of Bellefontaine, reportedly was operating an eastbound car when he attempted to pass an eastbound semi operated by Rodnie M. Waugh, 63, of Ashville. He then lost control and struck the side of the semi.

Mr. McLaughlin was transported by Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital. It was unknown whether the semi driver suffered any injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
