Man charged with assault

Tosh T. Collins, 30, of 6675 Willoby St., Huntsville, was charged with assault following an incident early Sunday morning.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault about 1:10 a.m. at Desperado’s Bar, 6857 Lima St., Huntsville.

Deputies spoke with Joy M. Shoemaker, 29, of 626 Buckeye Ave., Russells Point, who reported that she had been assaulted by Mr. Collins while outside the bar.

Witnesses said that  Collins had been asked to leave the bar because of his behavior.  Shoemaker had gone outside to smoke and reported that Collins had grabbed her around the neck and slammed her head into a concrete block.

The suspect was located at his residence and was placed under arrest.  Deputies report he was heavily intoxicated.  Collins was lodged in the jail.
