Bellefontaine City Council members could act in two weeks on a new 10-year enterprise zone agreement for AcuSport Corp. that is four times larger than a recently passed deal.
Service-Safety Director James Holycross told the council the shooting sports wholesaler has rescinded a $3 million package so it could submit a new application for a $12 million expansion plan.
AcuSport’s now wants to spend $6.4 million to add a two-story 96,000-square-foot addition and $600,000 to remodel 21,000 square feet of existing office space.
An estimated $5 million will be used for a material handling system.
At this time, AcuSport has not revised the number of new employees from it previous target of around 80.
The company wants to begin construction in April so the new agreement will go before a review board on Wednesday.
Council members should see an ordinance on the agreement by its next meeting on Feb. 26.
