West Liberty police cited the driver of a tractor trailer for running a red light that resulted in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 68 and Newell Street about 1:54 p.m. Sunday.

Darryl L. Denson, 53, of Columbus, was southbound on U.S. 68 and failed to stop at the red light at Newell St., striking the passenger’s of a westbound vehicle driven by John Plank, 87, of 829 Runkle St., which was attempting a left turn onto U.S. 68.
Mr. Plank and a passenger, Joy Plank, 86, were transported by Macochee Joint Ambulance District to Mary Rutan Hospital. Mrs. Plank sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police report.
Mr. Denson was not injured. Damage was heavy to the car, and light to the semi.
