In an area predominantly populated by fans of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns, the Super Bowl XLVII matchup featuring the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens isn’t exactly the ideal outcome of this year’s NFL season.
While there are many activities offered in New Orleans in conjunction with the Super Bowl that kicks off Sunday night in the Superdome, interest locally in the two teams is not super high. (AP PHOTO | CHARLIE RIEDEL)
After all, the 49ers have thwarted the Bengals in both of their two Super Bowl appearances.
Meanwhile, the Ravens were the end result of an unpopular move by former Browns Owner Art Modell that left Cleveland without a professional football team in the late 1990s.
But it’s still a Super Bowl and local football fans will be tuned in.
