SIDNEY — A Jackson Center man faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine after pleading guilty Tuesday in Shelby County Common Pleas Court to a charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a third-degree felony.
Larry John Wise, 67, of 17425 Morris-Rose Road, was charged with having unlawful sexual conduct with a 14-year-old in November. Wise initially pleaded not guilty in November, but entered the change of plea Tuesday following an agreement with the prosecution. The agreement included that the state would not pursue any additional charges against Wise connected to facts currently known to the state.
In addition to the maximum possible prison term of 60 months and the maximum fine of $10,000, Wise will face a mandatory five years of probation after his release from prison and will be registered as a Tier II sex offender.
Judge James F. Stevenson has ordered a presentence investigation in the case, and sentencing will be set at a later date. Wise remains free on bond.
