Gerald Dapore, 52, of Lakeview, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and received a citation for driving the wrong way on a divided highway following a crash Saturday evening.
Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a two-vehicle injury crash on U.S. Route 33 about 1 mile west of U.S. 68 about 7 p.m.
Mr. Dapore reportedly was operating an eastbound car on westbound U.S. 33, and a westbound car operated by Elizabeth Patton, 34, of Columbus, took evasive action to try to avoid his car. However, his vehicle still struck her car in a head-on collision.
Ms. Patton was transported by Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-incapacitating injuries. Mr. Dapore did not report any injuries.
A Bellefontaine Fire Department engine also responded to the scene.
