Indian Lake school board at a regular meeting Tuesday approved the resignation of a middle school staff member, conducted an executive session discussion surrounding school security and further signaled it will seek additional funding through a fall ballot initiative.
The board accepted the resignation for the purpose of retirement of Mary Kay Oakley, effective Jan. 25. Mrs. Oakley has worked with Indian Lake schools for 19-and-a-half-years as an educational assistant.
In a brief presentation to the board, Treasurer Coleen Reprogle said she anticipates recommending the board couples renewal of an existing levy set to expire this November with a yet unspecified increase to help keep the district financially stable.
