Caleb Jacobs, 18, of 11362 Oneida Path, one of the three inmates who escaped from the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center during March, was charged with felony breaking and entering Tuesday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office previously had received a theft complaint about a bicycle that was taken from an unattached garage at 11322 Mohawk Path, Chippewa, Lakeview, sometime between Friday and Saturday.
Tuesday evening, witnesses reported observing Mr. Jacobs riding around on the bicycle nearby an Indian Lake area gas station.
When deputies responded, the defendant told them that he had permission to use the bicycle. He was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Relating to his JDC escape case, Mr. Jacobs’ next court appearance had been set for Feb. 25.
For that incident, he has been charged with felonious assault, a first-degree felony; assault, a fourth-degree felony; and escape, a third-degree felony.
