Man nabbed for second DUI in as many months

David R. Cooper, 27, of 509 S. Detroit St., Bellefontaine, was arrested by Washington Township Police officers around 5 p.m. Sunday for his second drunk driving infraction is as many months.

Officers clocked Mr. Cooper traveling 73 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone on U.S. Route 33 at Township Road 94, initiated a traffic stop and performed a breathalyzer test on the driver, who reportedly logged a .140 blood alcohol level. He also was found driving under suspension for a DUI charge around a month ago, officers said.

Mr. Cooper was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under suspension and was taken to the Logan County Jail.
