URBANA — Judge Roger B. Wilson filed a decision last week to uphold Urbana City Schools’ ban barring Carmen Lacy from attending girls basketball games because of persistent unsportsmanlike conduct, according to local reports.
Mrs. Lacy, mother of player Trischa Lacy and an Urbana City Schools teacher, was banned after a Jan. 30 basketball game against Greenon High School, in which her daughter played.
An attorney for Mrs. Lacy filed for an injunction Dec. 6, but the judge upheld the ban a week ago.
Mrs. Lacy contends her daughter was threatened by Greenon players on Facebook and that school officials did not take steps to protect her.
Officials said Mrs. Lacy had previously been served two warning letters for allegedly making disruptive comments and at least one game official wanted her ejected from the game.
