Steven G. Johnson Jr., 33, of 270 N. Oak St., Lakeview, was charged with disorderly conduct and assault following an incident at his address late Saturday evening.
About 11:15 p.m., a couple driving in a minivan stopped to talk with deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office who were on patrol on the north side of Indian Lake.
The pair reported that they had just left Mr. Johnson’s residence because he was intoxicated and had overturned a table. They also said Mr. Johnson would not let his live-in girlfriend, Candy Dunn, 27, leave the residence.
Deputies responded to the home with assistance from officers of the Washington Township Police Department and the Russells Point Police Department.
When they arrived at the scene, they spoke with Ms. Dunn outside the residence, who confirmed what the couple had reported. She reportedly was crying and visibly upset, and said Mr. Johnson had pushed her and called her names during the altercation.
The defendant admitted that he’d had too much to drink, but would neither confirm nor deny overturning the table. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
