During a regular meeting Monday, Russells Point Village Council members learned that burglaries in the village are on the rise.
Police Chief Joe Freyhof reminds all residents to ensure that their premises are properly secured, in order to avoid a potential burglary.
Chief Freyhof also advised council that members of the Indian Joint Fire Department and Russells Point Police officers have expressed interest in being trained as “first responders,” a step above basic first aid. This training, he said, would be very beneficial to both departments and they could possibly share in the costs involved.
