Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department have wrapped up an investigation into an Oct. 13 crash that seriously injured Tyson Walther, 31, of 1530 Wright St.
According to police reports, Mr. Walther received multiple surgeries and was released from the hospital into a nursing home for months of recovery.
The officers have forward blood test results to the Bellefontaine Municipal Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of a charge of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Officers also recommended citing the motorist with failure to control.
Mr. Walther was southbound around 3 a.m. in a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air at a reckless speed, police report, when he lost control of the car and it struck a parked pickup truck in the 1200 block of Superior Street.
He sustained significant facial and head injuries and was entrapped in the car.
Laboratory results indicate his blood alcohol level was 0.222 percent.
