Drivers charged

Carolyn Jo Stewart, 53, of DeGraff, was lodged in the Logan County Jail after a two-vehicle crash around 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Avenue and County Road 18. Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department filed a felony charge of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

She was westbound on Lake and attempted to turn south onto C.R. 18.

Instead of driving into the right hand lane to avoid a vehicle stopped on C.R. 18, she attempted to pass on the left, according to preliminary reports

Officers continue to investigate the crash.

• Tyson Shirk, 32, of 1040 N. Main St., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for failure to control after a single-vehicle crash around 9:35 p.m. Thursday in 600 block N. Main St.

He told police he swerved to miss a dog and his sport utility vehicle went off the road and hit a utility pole and street sign. His vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

Officers detected an odor of alcohol on his breathe. Field sobriety tests indicated possible intoxication but he refused to take a breathalyzer test.

• Judd Houston, 34, of 804 W. Sandusky Ave., was served Friday with a Wayne County warrant for failure to comply with a court order.
