Diana Smith, 59, of 538 Pimtown Road, West Liberty, was transported by MedFlight helicopter to the Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University in Columbus for injuries sustained after she was struck by a vehicle Monday evening near DeGraff.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of the 1000 block of County Road 21 about 7:20 p.m. regarding a woman who had been struck by a vehicle.
Mrs. Smith and her husband, David, reportedly were with several other individuals who were towing a pickup with a second pickup.
Mrs. Smith exited the vehicle to shut a gate and then slipped and was struck by the lead pickup, operated by Michael Ferryman, 45, of West Liberty.
She was transported by Riverside squad to the Bellefontaine Municipal Airport, where she was picked up by the medical helicopter.
Personnel with the DeGraff Fire Department also responded to the scene.
