Mercer County murder suspect sought

ROCKFORD — Mercer County Sheriff's deputies and Rockford Police are investigating a homicide that occurred about 10:43 a.m. Thursday at 509 W. North St. in Rockford.
The name of a female victim has not been released.
Authorities are searching for Daniel Charles Martin, 40, of the Rockford area, in connection with the incident. He was driving a red Ford Explorer, license plate EHU 5441.
As a precaution, Logan County Sheriff's deputies were notified Thursday afternoon to be on the look out for Mr. Martin. No sightings of the suspect had been reported in the county as of 5:30 p.m., according to deputies.
