Phyllis Ropp, left, follows Jennifer Siler’s instructions on proper rearview mirror adjustments during a CarFit event Wednesday conducted by the Bellefontaine AAA office. Ms. Siler, sales manager for the 1790 S. Main St. agency, said another one will be scheduled in the spring. Around 10 people took advantage of the free 20-minute, 12-point CarFit checklist, which includes line of sight over the steering wheel, seat belt usage, gas and brake foot pedal placements and other aspects of fitting properly into a vehicle. Wren’s Towing also provided free battery checks. Participants in the program, designed for “mature” drivers, received a bag of goodies, including an ice scraper, a tape measure key ring and candy bars. (EXAMINER PHOTO | JOEL E. MAST) |
