Ashley Ogula, 28, of 121 N. St. Paris St., was charged Thursday with endangering children and domestic violence after her 10-year-old son fled their residence and sought refuge at Western Intermediate School, 1130 W. Sandusky Ave.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report the boy had welts on his arms. He told school officials and others his mother whipped him with a wire hanger.
School officials contacted Logan County Children’s Services and then the police.
Ms. Ogula was contacted by the LCCS and she showed up at the school cursing and demanding to see her son.
She was taken into custody and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
The boy was placed with a grandmother.
