Deputies of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle head-on collision at 6:15 a.m. today in the 19000 block of State Route 292 north of Ridgeway.

Christy Newland of Ridgeway was driving a sport utility vehicle involved in the crash, and she was transported by Mt. Victory squad to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton for chest injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was extricated after tools were used and was transported by Kenton’s BKP squad to Hardin Memorial Hospital.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Ridgeway Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.

Mrs. Newland is the wife of Ridgeway firefighter Craig Newland.
