Blynn A. Poland, 47, of Kenton, was arrested for two counts of telecommunications harassment Sunday evening after he allegedly made threatening phone calls to his cousin and also to personnel at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
His cousin, Donald G. Patton of Lakeview, reported that evening to deputies that he had been receiving harassing phone calls from Mr. Poland since 9 a.m. that day. He said it sounded like Mr. Poland was intoxicated.
A deputy made a phone call to Mr. Poland, and the defendant agreed to stop calling his cousin.
However, a short time later, Mr. Poland made several return calls to the sheriff’s office, where he shouted profanity at dispatchers and deputies.
Mr. Patton also reported that his cousin had left him additional threatening voicemails.
Deputies arrested the defendant at his residence, and they noted that he was heavily intoxicated. He also had reportedly made several calls that day to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and the Kenton Police Department.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
