UPDATE: Motorists, passenger escape serious injuries after Friday crash

Barla Williams, 58, of Lakeview, was cited for driving left of center following a crash at 3:51 p.m. Friday on Township Road 216 just south of County Road 11.

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that she was operating a northbound sport utility vehicle when she attempted to turn on her windshield wipers and then drove left of center, striking a southbound vehicle operated by Dixie Shoffner, 65, of Bellefontaine.
Ms. Shoffner was treated at the scene by EMS personnel for minor abrasions, and refused transport to an area hospital for further treatment. Others involved in the crash, including a passenger in the Shoffner vehicle, did not report any injuries.
Bellefontaine Fire and EMS and deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
Damage to both vehicles was heavy.
