A former area resident and 1966 graduate of Kenton High School is continuing her family’s legacy of giving back by blanketing the most vulnerable who find themselves in the emergency room at local hospitals.
Through her Blanket Train charity, Mary Lois Brugler, a registered nurse by profession, creates flannel blankets and stuffed toys to comfort young children who enter the emergency rooms at Mary Rutan Hospital and Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.
While each is unique, a heart is featured on every blanket so each child and family member knows someone cares.
