Logan County Family Court judge candidates Dan Bratka and Bridget Hawkins have slightly different outlooks on the judgeship, but they say they won’t let a political race get in the way of the friendship and mutual respect they have for one another.

“This is tough for us because we are friends,” Mr. Bratka told members of the Bellefontaine Rotary Club on Monday afternoon. “We have to go on no matter what happens on Nov. 6.”
“We do get along and we are trying to maintain good decorum,” Ms. Hawkins said. “I think we have done that so far.”
The two candidates are running to fill the judgeship left vacant by Judge C. Douglas Chamberlain’s retirement at the end of July.
