Yvonne M. Burk, 50, of Rushsylvania, died at 7:51 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2015.

She was born in Kenton on Sept. 11, 1965, to Lois J. Snyder Pfeiffer, who survives, and the late Henry F. Pfeiffer.

Also surviving are three daughters, Danielle (Casey Hamilton) Burk of Rushsylvania, Natasha (John) Helmsdoerfer of Plainsboro, N.J., and Taylor Burk of Upper Sandusky; two grandchildren, Shaina and Cadyn Hamilton; three brothers, Richard (Peggy) Pfeiffer, Gary (Bettie) Pfeiffer and Tim (Patty) Pfeiffer; two sisters, Vicki (Joe) Martin and Tammy (Jason) Hux; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A 1983 graduate of Riverdale High School, Yvonne loved spending time with her family and friends.

Yvonne believed in helping others and was planning her second mission trip to Haiti through St. John’s United Church of Christ, where she has been an active member.

She was employed by Indian Lake Schools where she was a loved bus driver and aide.

Yvonne was a devoted Jeff Gordon fan and loved cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home in Kenton. The Revs. Dr. Randall J. Forester and R. Scott Johnson officiate a funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, with visitation one hour prior. Burial follows in Hueston Cemetery, Jackson Township, Forest.

Rochella Darlene Spencer

Rochella “Roxy” Darlene Spencer, 75, of Rushsylvania, passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at her residence.

She was born in Lima on Nov. 21, 1939, a daughter of the late Hubert “Jim” and Grace Arlene Craig Williams.

On June 29, 1957, in Allen County, she married Dwight Spencer and he preceded her in death June 28, 2015. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Coranita Longbrake; a brother, Randall J. Williams; and a brother-in-law, Robert Straker.

She is survived by children, Lynzetta (Mark) Leatherman of Bellefontaine, Jeff (Debbie) Spencer of Rushsylvania and Kimberly “Kim” (James) Bycynski of West Mansfield; grandchildren, Danielle, Landon, Curt, Alexa, Sydney, Lauren and Spencer; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Lane, Lance, Lacey, Preston, Whitney, Abigail, Annemarie, Sophia and Claire; one sister, Beverly Straker of Rushsylvania; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close friends.

Roxy attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in Mary Rutan Hospital for 32 years, primarily working in the obstetrics department. She enjoyed going shopping and loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was a fan of any sport or activity that her grandchildren participated in. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to various locations throughout the years.

Roxy was the “wind beneath her husband’s wings,” and that bond is what allowed them to give so much back to the community in which they lived and served.

Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, where visitation from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13. Burial is in Harper Cemetery in rural Bellefontaine.
