Rodney “Tré” Burnside III of Huntsville recently returned home from a two-week visit to China with his grandfather, Rich Armstrong of DeGraff. A 2010 Indian Lake High School graduate, Mr. Burnside’s love of martial arts was intensified on the trip after visiting the Shaolin Temple and witnessing many demonstrations of martial art forms. He is a four-year karate student of Sensei Ron Smith of Bellefontaine and also studies kung fu with Sifu Tony Brown of Powell.

Members of the Bellefontaine High School Class of 1950 gathered for dinner at Tree Links Golf Course Aug. 21 to celebrate their 60th reunion. A tractor-trailer hit a viaduct over Lake Avenue and became stuck around 7:25 a.m. today. Karmjit S. Sekhon, 41, Brampton, Ontario, who was westbound to Belletech Corp., 700 W. Lake Ave., was cited for disregarding a traffic control device, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department reported. Traffic was limited to one lane until the semi was freed from the viaduct.
