The Bellefontaine High School marching band earned a composite superior rating Saturday at the Marion Local District Band Contest and qualified for the state marching band finals Oct. 30 at Dayton Welcome Stadium.

The band earned the top ratings for music, marching, general effect, drum line and color guard.
The band participates Oct. 22 in the Versailles Band Invitational. They are scheduled to perform at 5:15 p.m.
Continuing the tradition, a tailgate party precedes the group’s state performance in Dayton.
