Benjamin Logan graduate Mason Patrick earned a feature win and the American Modified Series stars and cars battled in a full field to highlight Saturday’s racing program at Shady Bowl Speedway.

The 20-lap compact feature saw Patrick power his way to another win despite a mid-race tussle with Josh Sage. Kelsey Flynn and David Yoder traded paint as they battled for second with Flynn coming out ahead. Sage battled his way back to fourth and Ryan Titus was fifth.

The American Modified Series Sparkler 40 saw Jason Wells battle Bellefontaine’s Brad Yelton for much of the race, but held on to post his first AMS win. Dean Pitts had a strong run to finish third. John Lawhorn was fourth and Jason Timmerman was fifth to round out the top five.

Richard Roush won in sport stocks and posted his third win of the season. Chris Abbott placed second as Mark Heath, Chad Fiessinger and Rick Thompson rounded out the top five.

The Pro-4 main went to Steve Clarkson who has posted more Pro-4 wins than any other driver including 50 feature wins. Josh Sage finished second with David Gerstner, David Foor and Donnie Hall took third through fifth, respectively.

Jeff Ellis pulled into victory lane in the Detrot Iron class. Lou Ebright finished second.

Saturday the Firecraker 50 for the American Modified Series takes place and pays $2,500 to the winner. The sport stocks, Pro-4s and Ohio Valley Dwarf Cars and compacts are also part of the speedfest. Racing starts at 7 p.m.
