CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in central Ohio say they still are trying to figure out how a 30-year-old woman ended up dead in a creek over the weekend.
Ross County investigators spent Wednesday searching Paint Creek by water and by air looking for clues into the death of Tameka Lynch of Chillicothe (chihl-ih-KAHTH'-ee). Her body was found by kayakers on Saturday, washed up on a sandbar in the creek in southern Ross County, south of Columbus.
No other information about her death has been released.
Lynch was last seen on May 19 walking on a downtown street. She was reported missing by her husband.
Investigators say they also are looking into whether Lynch's death might be connected to the disappearance of another woman from the area, 28-year-old Charlotte Trego.
