HAMERSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a fatal police shooting incident in southwest Ohio ended when the suspect plowed an SUV into a village government building.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Justice says an officer in the Brown County village of Hamersville opened fire at a suspect who was fleeing and dragging another officer Tuesday night.
The wounded suspect crashed the SUV into the Hamersville city hall building. He died later at a hospital. His name hasn't been released.
The officers were injured but are expected to be OK.
The incident began at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when officers got a call about a suspicious person and stopped the man. Hamersville, southeast of Cincinnati, has about 550 residents.
