Sam Lee “Old Goat” Boedicker, 78, died at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at The Meadows of Putnam Acres, Ottawa.
He was born July 19, 1935, to the late Arthur S. and Malinda E. Stevenson Boedicker. He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Dewayne Boedicker; and seven siblings, Don Boedicker, Dale (Evelyn) Boedicker, Harold (Rita) Boedicker, Bill (Gloria) Boedicker, Marie (Carl) Mason, Linda (Ronnie) Focht and Jean Todd.
Sam was married to Linda Lee Hudson, who survives in Ottawa, along with three sons, Dean (Tonya) Boedicker of Lima, Perry (Mindy) Boedicker of Lima and Shawn Allen of DeGraff; one daughter, Brandy (John) Schut of Ontario, Canada; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister in-law, Cathy McDougle of Columbus Grove; and two brothers-in-law, Stanley Hudson and Tommy Jack Hudson, both of Lakeview.
Mr. Boedicker attended Lima Central High School, after which he joined the U. S. Marine Corps, serving in Korea. He worked for and retired from the Ohio Transportation Center, East Liberty. Prior to this, he worked for Koneta Rubber Company, Wapakoneta.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with grandchildren, riding his Harley with his brother, Don, and just being outdoors with family and friends.
Sam was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan. He loved his dog, “Jake,” and his cat, “Peanut.”
Visitation is two hours prior to a service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, with Pastor William Crunk officiating.
