Northeastern drops Bellefontaine netters 5-0

Northeastern’s boys tennis team blanked visiting Bellefontaine 5-0 on Friday in a non-league meeting.

The loss drops the Chieftains to 0-4 on the season.

Bellefontaine’s Tyler Frantz lost in first singles action to Tyler Haerr 6-1, 6-1, while the Chiefs’ Adam Verbsky lost in second singles play to Christian Oberg 6-1, 6-1. Third singles action saw Bellefontaine’s Dean Smith lose to Brandon Stokes 6-0, 6-0.

In first doubles action, Bellefontaine’s Max Wilcoxon and Isaiah Brady fell to Will Foreman and Robbie Fitzwater 6-2, 6-1. The BHS second doubles team of Mason Bailey and Min Lin lost to Paris Vernatter and C.J. Parsons 6-1, 6-1.

In junior varsity action, the Chiefs Derek Markley beat Max Foreman in singles action 6-2.

Bellefontaine travels to Lima Shawnee on Monday for a non-league contest.
