Man found dead at Huntsville park

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office located a deceased male in a vehicle parked at the Community Lions Park along Findlay Street in Huntsville about 5 p.m. Thursday.

The male was identified as James L. Cooper, 30, of rural Bellefontaine, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Logan County Coroner. The death is suspected as a suicide.

A firearm was found at the scene.

Mr. Cooper’s family members had called the sheriff’s office about an hour and a half earlier to ask for a well-being check for him.

Huntsville squad also responded to the location.
