Gary Pool, 55, of 901 N. Main St., was charged Wednesday with public intoxication and falsification after he tried to convince officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department and emergency room staff at Mary Rutan Hospital that he had been assaulted.
He was found on the ground around 10 p.m. behind 1053 N. Main St. A resident there said he had consumed two 40-ounce containers of beer.
Officers report he would squeeze his eyes shut and fake convulsions. He was transported to MRH and staff there also felt he was faking.
He was released to police and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
