Committee on Appropriations

The State of Ohio is in dire need of a US68 bypass that would connect with IH75 at Findlay on the North and the US68 bypass South of Urbana. This area is being passed up by business because of congestion of the communities through which traffic must pass. An additional bypass that would improve the East-West flow of traffic along US36 through Champaign and other counties would also create more opportunities for commerce for those areas. It is also past time for Ohio to create mass transit/high speed corridors to move people around the state. A corridor that would connect Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland with branches that would connect to other major cities like Toledo, Dayton, Springfield, Lima, Canton/Akron, Youngstown, and branch to Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, and Chicago. These could be elevated mag-lev trains the use the medians of existing freeways so additional rights-of-way wouldn't have to be purchased. If you could lay the ground work for these items, you would be my hero. Regards, Joe Slater
