Raiders defeat Lakers in local golf matchup

Benjamin Logan’s boys golf team handled host Indian Lake 149-177 on Monday in a local Central Buckeye Conference meeting at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.

Jordan Sosby fired a low of 35 to earn match medalist and lead the Raiders, while teammate Blaine Ricketts was one stroke back with 36.

Also for Ben Logan, Ed Kenoyer, Cole Saylor and Grant Ricketts each carded 39s and Mason Cline recorded a 44.

For Indian Lake, Caleb Meadows led with a 42, Randall Henson and Quenten Staley each carded 44s and Jake Frost added a 47.

Ben Logan hosts a tri-match on Wednesday, while Indian Lake travels to Graham for a CBC contest.

BHS golfers bounce Stebbins

Bellefontaine’s varsity boys golf team defeated Stebbins 158-181 at Sugar Isle Golf Course on Monday.

The Chiefs’ Travis Fowler was the match medalist with a 36.

Also for BHS, Cody Lyons carded a 38, Cody Hullinger had a 39, Landyn Butler had a 45, Jarrett Beck had a 46 and Nate Langenfeld had a 52.

“I was proud to see the top three golfers tonight shoot under 40 on an opposing course,” said BHS coach Ryan Sawmiller. “This is our best score of the year and is hopefully the start to what is to come. Travis, Cody and Cody all played exceptionally tonight and mistakes were minimal.”
